A respected Federally Qualified Health Center with over 50 years of service seeks multiple Optometrists to join their expanding clinical team. With multiple practice sites across central and northern Maine, this nonprofit delivers primary care, urgent care, mental health, dentistry, podiatry, physical therapy, and more to underserved communities.
This is a full-time, outpatient role providing comprehensive eye care as part of an integrated primary care team. The organization is actively recruiting for several locations, allowing you to choose a setting that fits your lifestyle and preferences. You will provide full-scope optometry services including vision exams, diagnosis and treatment of eye conditions, prescribing corrective lenses, and manage ocular health.
You will:
· Perform comprehensive eye exams and develop treatment plans
· Diagnose visual impairments and eye diseases
· Prescribe glasses, contact lenses, and medications
· Provide patient education and preventive eye care
· Collaborate with primary care providers and refer to specialists as needed
Become part of a coordinated care model, contributing to improved health outcomes across a diverse patient population.

This general practice provides treatment for cataracts, diabetes, retinal occlusions, macular degeneration, glaucoma, and more. If you have an area of subspecialty interest, you will be supported in developing that practice. You will join a busy, well-supported practice alongside another ophthalmologist, an optometrist, and an experienced team of Certified Ophthalmic Assistants, providing comprehensive eye care to a broad regional population.
This is a full-time position offering a mix of clinical practice and leadership responsibilities. You will help guide program development, support quality initiatives, and work closely with hospital leadership to ensure continued growth and excellence in ophthalmology services.
