Los Angeles: We seek an experienced physician to be MEDICAL DIRECTOR and create a new PACE program in Alhambra, the gateway to the San Gabriel Valley just 8 miles east of downtown Los Angeles. You must be fluent in Mandarin or Cantonese to be considered. You should have senior care experience in Geriatrics, Internal Medicine, Hospitalist, etc. Candidates experienced with capitated, integrated care delivery models including Medicare Shared Savings Programs, BPCI, or other Value Based Care Models, will receive priority consideration. This is an opportunity to build a world class clinical model helping seniors “age in place” with dignity and access to all the care they require. You will help build a community-based services model, creating a culturally competent and scalable PACE (Program of All-Inclusive Care for the Elderly) program. This is a key role. Working with an experienced leadership team, you will support the design and development of a proven clinical model and lead the day-to-day clinical operations for a system of providing care for underserved seniors incorporating all facets of their life and culture. The employer has significant funding to launch this program – initially aiming to care for about 500 individuals. As Medical Director, you will oversee all clinical teams and will have a hands-on clinical role seeing patients and managing Nurse Practitioners and other staff. You will determine the best care model, whether continuing directly or supervising a small panel of other providers. You will lead the team managing a 34-bed Progressive Care Unit (PCU – a combination of ICU, Step-Down, and Med/Surg). Step-down beds in the PCU are for people transitioning between the ICU and Med/Surg. Patients awaiting nursing home placement sometimes spend time on this unit.
