Augusta: -- UPDATE - THIS POSITION IS ON HOLD UNTIL FURTHER NOTICE - We invite a sharp Plastic Surgeon to join the superb medical staff of Maine’s newest hospital – a state-of-the-art 192-bed regional medical center (less than five years old) in Maine's dynamic capital city, just one hour from Portland. Physicians requiring J1 or H1b visa support are welcome to apply. This physician-led medical center is Maine’s third largest healthcare system. You will be employed by a multidisciplinary group practice and practice in a state-of-the-art environment, fully equipped with robotics, and more! You will replace a surgeon who is relocated out of the area. Join a peer surgeon and an excellent support crew that includes two well-trained plastics PAs, an experienced RN, and two wonderful MAs. You will enjoy an interesting role with a wide variety of procedures including: Breast reduction and panniculectomy; abdominal wall reconstruction; skin cancer and soft tissue excision with sentinel lymph node biopsy as needed; cosmetic/ corrective surgery; assist with facial fracture management; assist with burn wound management; participation in the care of complex wound management with a new Hyperbaric/Wound Care program (new chamber on site); and tissue transfer surgery. This medical center is home to an unopposed Family Medicine Residency Program, so opportunities to teach residents and fellows may be available! Enjoy variety, with two OR days and 2.5 outpatient clinic days, with a half-day set aside for outpatient procedures.
