Farmington: We seek a skilled General Surgeon to join a dynamic hospital-owned surgical group in this popular and growing college town in scenic west-central Maine. You will join three superb, experienced Surgeons who are committed to providing high quality medical/surgical care to patients of all ages throughout Maine. Experienced and newly trained Surgeons will be considered equally! Become part of a busy team managing an average of 2,000+ cases annually, supported by a full time anesthesiology group. Surgeons here average 10 endoscopies per week (EGD & colonoscopy) and perform their own stereotactic biopsies for breast disease (the hospital has a breast care center). Call is shared on a 1:4 basis (nights and weekends) and is light due to the support of a superb team of hospitalists on hand 24/7, and handling most admissions. Trauma call is minimal, as most serious cases are referred directly from the ER to a regional trauma center. We would like to find a skilled physician who can do endoscopic and laparoscopic procedures in addition to traditional general surgery. Qualified candidates with an H1B or J1 visa may be considered for employment in this medically underserved area. This busy operation enjoys the referrals of eight area practices! Join an experienced peer physician and help manage an annual average of 300 surgeries plus 350 endoscopic procedures.
