CHOICE OF SCHEDULE:

You can work the DAY SHIFT, Mon-Fri, 6am-6pm, with no weekends.

Or you can work NIGHTS, 6pm-6am, 2 on/2 off, with no weekends.

 

Night shifts are handled solo, with backup from an Emergency Department physician. Hospitalists here average 15 12-hour shifts every four weeks. This includes one half-day/week for administrative or non-patient care duties. Weekends are covered by a full-time Hospitalist who works from 6:00 AM Saturday through 6:00 AM Monday. You will be expected to provide high quality, efficient inpatient consultations and acute care in a 6-bed combined Med/Surg/ICU and a 25-bed med/surg unit. You have the option of doing procedures if desired (not required). You will manage admissions coming from the Emergency Department. Hospitalists are responsible for post-surgical patients who are on a ventilator, and frequently perform pre-op assessments for the surgeons. You will interact with hospital social workers and discharge planners, office-based primary care physicians, and various medical specialists to coordinate patient care and transfers as appropriate. Inpatient care is supported by excellent, specially trained nursing staff and a superb administrative team. You will have access to the latest diagnostic testing tools.
