Connecticut:

Waterbury: We are actively recruiting a Colorectal Surgeon to join a very busy peer in a 300+ bed nonprofit acute care teaching hospital affiliated with the Yale and UCONN Schools of Medicine. The selected surgeon will help build and expand the growing CR service (the only one in the area), and will spend up to 20% of their time instructing residents, as a faculty post comes with this position. If selected, you will be employed by a multispecialty group (with several other surgeons, and a heavy emphasis on primary care), and will share general surgery call initially, with plans to focus solely on CR call later. The incoming surgeon will earn an excellent compensation package with a base salary commensurate with your skills, training and experience, along with a complete array of benefits including relocation assistance and much more. Waterbury is famous as Yale University’s hometown. At over 110,000 residents, it’s one of the ten biggest cities in New England. A very desirable location for families, singles and scholars, the area is home to museums and live theatres, a comedy club, outstanding restaurants, plus family amusement and water parks. The city hosts outdoor jazz, art and other festivals, and is well known for art galleries and antiquing. Area hiking is scenic and you might choose from a range of country clubs and golf courses for additional recreation. Waterbury has a history of industrial innovation. Its role as the “Brass Capital of the World,” and later success in the clock and watch industry, are well documented – and these important industries are evidenced by the numerous clocktowers and old brass factories found around the city today. Parents will be pleased by a selection of superb public and private schools – as New England is famous for its nationally ranked schools and colleges. Located between Boston and New York (130 miles and 77 miles respectively), Waterbury is just 33 miles from Hartford.
